UpRight! Balance Training

In order to be eligible for this program, you MUST have had a FALLS ASSESSMENT WITHIN THE THREE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLASS and you must fall into the low to moderate falls risk range. A COPY OF YOUR ASSESSMENT MUST BE BROUGHT WITH YOU to the first class of the session. Should you or your physician have any questions about this program, please contact Mary Bulla-Sanchez at 301-557-1233. Choosing "Matter of Balance" vs. "Upright! Balance Training": "Upright! Balance Training" will help you focus on specific aspects of controlling a fall in 1-hr sessions, twice per week, for approximately 12 weeks. Please note that this class meets twice a week; on Mondays and Wednesdays. Consistent participation throughout the session is highly recommended to obtain measurable improvement. As with any exercise program, you should check with your physician before starting this class. If UpRight! Balance Training is too advanced for you at this time, you may wish to consider a Matter of Balance class. "Matter of Balance" is a multiple session class that starts you on the road with simple exercise to help control all aspects of a fall. This program uses sensory training and balance-specific exercises that increase awareness skills needed for balance maintenance. "Matter of Balance" meets once a week for two-hours each time.
